Babies need a lot of attention while they are growing up. With all other activities like playing, feeding, sleeping, it is equally important that the baby is involved in activities that would lead to their mental development too. Some of the kids really love when a story is being read to them in bed. It helps in developing an aesthetic sense as well as imaginative power as they grow up. A book can be read to a baby as early as 5 to 6 months.
How can reading help?

In a span of about a year a baby learns most of the sounds and very commonly used words. Scientifically hearing helps in engraving most of the words on their brains. It also helps in making them more expressive with their feelings. It is the best way to forge a mental connection to a baby and the mother.
